Review by hotel critic
As a historical fiction enthusiast and sailor, I appreciate places that offer both charm and practicality. My stay at Villa Della Pergola in Alassio was a testament to the balance of luxury and value. This refurbished palazzo, nestled in stunning gardens, greets you with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Our room, Wisteria Lodge, was spacious and well-equipped with a mini-bar and flat-screen TV, not to mention the delightful terrace with sea views. The staff were genuinely friendly, making us feel at home while handling requests like laundry and room service with ease. The breakfast spread was generous, and the dinners at the Michelin-starred restaurant showcased Ligurian cuisine beautifully. While the rates may appear steep upfront, the extensive amenities, including a new spa, infinity pool, and attentive service, make it feel like a worthwhile investment for a memorable getaway. You might pay a premium, but the experience is one you won't forget—just as I will with my sailing adventures.
